3 Ways to Improve Site Speed When Using Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager enables us to add codes to our site easily.

I was reluctant to use it at first because I was afraid that it is hard to implement.

But after I started using GTM, I never looked back.

On page load, GTM will fire all the tags, thus adding lots of server requests and adding to the page load time.

I found this article that shows how to optimize our site speed when using GTM.

It mentions 3 ways which could be helpful in doing so:

  1. Only fire tags on necessary pages
  2. Pause tags that are not in use
  3. Fire certain tags after time or scroll delay

These are very useful tips which I will be using in the future too.
